Greetings all! Well, it is autumn, which is a time of year that marks the end for many of us insects. We are either going inside people's homes, looking for warmth, finding overwintering sites, or dying off after we've left our future offspring in protected places.

I thought I'd share with you a little about those nuisance insects (not me, a mantis is NEVER a nuisance!) that commonly invade houses in the fall. Most of them are harmless, although they'd certainly make a tasty meal for me!

Welcome to my blog! I am Psyche, a female Chinese Praying Mantis. I am named after the daughter of the famous Nebraska Entomologist, Lawrence Bruner.

I belong to  Erin Bauer, who is an Entomology Lecturer with the  University of Nebraska--Lincoln Entomology online program. I can give you lots of info about the program and the Entomology Department, as well as fun facts and tips about insects in general.

Feel free to ask me questions about entomology, life as a mantis, upcoming events, or how to become an Entomologist! I am one smart bug, and will help you wherever I can!
